I’ve been busy teaching myself new skills over the last couple of months. One of those is crochet. I taught myself because I wanted to make some dish cloths, then I found a pattern for towel toppers, and one for baby booties, and then a pattern for a this and a pattern for that! Suddenly, I have a ton of small crocheted items!
My favorite right now is for round scrubbies, both for one’s face and for dishes. I make the dish scrubbies from tulle and the face scrubbies from worsted weight yarn. The pattern is similar:
Do a magic circle (or chain 6 and join)
Work 12 double crochets into the circle. If you did a magic circle, pull it tight and join the first and last dc. (12 stitches)
chain 3, then work 1 dc into the same stitch as the join. (24 stitches)
Work 2 dc into each stitch around the circle. Join, chain 3, then work 2 dc into each stitch. join (48 stitches)
Fasten off.
To create a either scrubbie, make 2 of the above circles, then put them back to back and single crochet through the outside stitch of both circles.
