One of our chickens escaped her coop some time ago. Hubby found her hiding in the bushes about 4 days later and poor Griselda the chicken was looking pretty rough. When he brought her to me, I advised him that she wouldn’t make it, but hubby persisted.
Griselda received a bath, some Blue Kote over her wounds, and her own private recovery crate, complete with food and water on demand.
Miraculously, after nearly 3 months in rehab, Griselda is laying eggs again! I assume that means she is almost completely healed and that it is nearly time to reintroduce her into the flock.
